FAQ - technical guide

Proper designation of the type of gratings will streamline their implementation, so when placing an order or inquiry, please use the symbols below: Designation of the type of grids:
  • welded gratings:
  • KOZ – welded framed grating
  • KNZ – welded unframed grating
  • XKOZ – serrated framed grating
  • pressed/pressed gratings:
  • KOP – pressed framed grating
  • KWO – pressed framed grating
  • KNP – unframed pressed grating
  • KOP serrated pressed gratings:
  • X5 – notches on supporting flat bar
  • X6 – notches on transverse flat bar
  • X7 – notches on bearing and transverse flat bar
Grade designations:
  • SOZ – welded steps
  • SOP – pressed steps
Material:
  • S235, S355 structural steel. Steel without corrosion protection: BLACK or with corrosion protection: OCYNK
  • stainless steel AISI304 (1.4301)
  • acid resistant steel AISI316 (1.4401/1.4404)
The correct lattice order looks as follows: KOZ/34X38/40X4/ mm L=900 mm B=500 mm grade 304, pcs. 100 where individual parameters mean:
  • type of grating – KOZ- welded framed grating
  • mesh size of the grating – 34X38 mm
  • dimension of the supporting flat bar – 40X4 mm
  • length of grating bearing flat bars – L=900 mm
  • length of bars connecting the grating – B=500 mm
  • grade of steel
  • 100 – number of ordered gratings or stair treads
The grating has two dimensions: L – carrying dimension The dimension between supports, and at the same time the length of the grating’s supporting flat bars. In the case of a channel or platform, this will be its width. It is assumed that the bearing dimension is given first.

Wymiar nośny L oznaczany jest:

B – lateral dimension The dimension that runs along the supports and represents the length of the filled channel/ platform. Important! Grates are made in minus tolerance (+0 ; -4 mm). This means that the grating can be up to 4 mm smaller (for both dimensions), but never larger than the specified dimension.
Heavy grating should be characterized by appropriate technical parameters. It is important to select them according to the intended application. When selecting gratings for vehicular traffic, the following parameters should be taken into account :
  • support spacing,
  • the weight of the vehicle including the load,
  • pressure concentrated on an area of 200×200 mm in the most unfavorable place of the grating,
  • type of vehicle – van, truck, forklift
  • the direction of movement in relation to the alignment of the supporting flat bars.
