WEMA gratings

Kraty pomostoweWe produce two basic types of gratings - welded gratings and pressed (pressed) gratings.

Platform gratings are widely used in construction, industry, transportation, energy, and public and commercial places. They are made of them:
  • bridges for walkways,
  • stairs and landings,
  • protection of drainage channels and vehicles,
  • driveways, ramps and inclines,
  • facade and landscaping elements.
The construction rules for gratings are in accordance with DIN 24537, while stair treads are in accordance with DIN 24531.
Grades of steel from which we make gratings:
  • carbon steel S235, S355
  • stainless steel AISI 304 (1.4301)
  • acid-resistant steel AISI 316 (1.4401/1.4404), AISI 316Ti (1.4571), AISI 321 (1.4541) and others
  • corten steel
  • aluminum
Gratings of steel grade S235, S355 are protected against corrosion by hot-dip galvanizing according to EN ISO 1461, while gratings of stainless and acid-resistant steel are subjected to etching and natural passivation. All types of gratings can be made in an anti-slip version (serrated), providing an anti-slip level of up to R12. Thanks to this, they will have a greater grip and perform well in places exposed to weather conditions (rain, snow, frost), as well as wherever it is necessary to ensure adequate anti-slip parameters. Additional elements that could be made at the bars:
  • bortices (framing higher than the supporting flat bar)
  • anti-slip slats
  • angles

One of the most important products available in our product range are gratings. We have been manufacturing wema gratings since 1985, and today we are one of the most experienced and important manufacturers of this product on the market.

The scope of our business includes the production of two types of gratings: welded gratings and press-in gratings. Both types of gratings can be made as anti-slip gratings (serrated) using incised flat bars, thickened mesh gratings (offshored), heavy duty gratings, solid gratings, louvered gratings and security gratings (security mesh). We offer the possibility of making gratings in any size according to the needs of the customer.

We have prepared a wide range of production of special products. We manufacture, among others:
  • irregularly shaped grids,
  • anti-slip gratings (serrated),
  • compacted mesh grids (offshor),
  • louvre grilles,
  • security mesh,
  • heavy-duty gratings carrying heavy loads (heavy duty),
  • cardboard grids (solid),
  • stainless steel gratings,
  • acid resistant gratings.

The gratings we produce are in accordance with DIN 24537 and 24531 and protected against corrosion by hot-dip galvanizing according to EN ISO 1461. Moreover, our wema gratings are distinguished by very good strength parameters, which was confirmed in tests conducted by the Wroclaw University of Technology.

These gratings are used in industrial and energy construction, and are also used in chemical plants and wastewater treatment plants as working platforms, service platforms, passageways, duct covers, stair treads. Other examples of applications for wema grating include fences and partition walls, facades and suspended ceilings, manholes, garden architecture elements, shelving or balustrade fillings.

Wema gratings are made of supporting flat bars and perpendicular cross bars, usually grooved and bolted. They are products with easy assembly and disassembly, a stable bearing surface and good corrosion resistance. The gratings available from us are also characterized by their high strength-to-weight ratio and a wide selection of available shapes. We are a leading manufacturer of wema gratings, which we supply to many companies in Poland and abroad.

We manufacture two types of gratings, press-in gratings and welded gratings. They can be made of different materials, and these materials have different properties, among other things. Therefore, in order to meet the expectations, as well as the needs of our customers, we offer a wide range of gratings of different sizes, thicknesses. made of different materials, in addition to free consultation in making the right choice.

Thus, gratings made of hot-dip galvanized steel are resistant to rust, this is achieved by subjecting them to a special chemical process as a result, they are covered with a special coating. Guaranteed lifespan of hot-dip galvanized gratings is about 80 years if used outdoors, without the use of various acids, and chemical pollutants. Gratings made of acid-resistant steel, should be placed in areas heavily exposed to the action of various chemicals (such as chemical industry plants), building bridges, footbridges, or stairs, their additional advantage is resistance to rust.

      • Composite – made of chemically resistant resins and fiberglass, in smooth and non-slip versions, with the addition of color pigments. Composite gratings (made of polyester resin and fiberglass) have very many advantages, rust resistance, lightweight, yet very strong, resilient, fire resistant.

The range of products offered by the Rapmet production plant includes a wide assortment of high-quality gratings and spiral stair treads. The offered products are made both from ordinary steel, stainless steel, acid-resistant steel, weathering steel, as well as aluminum and composite materials (fiberglass and polyester resin). The proposed solutions are used in every field, from materials for floors, balustrades to facade elements.

They can be used to build, among other things, platforms, stairs, footbridges, ramps, ramps, landings, passageways at pipelines, tanks, overhead crane platforms, crane goods platforms (in smooth or non-slip versions, in industrial plants and more), ramps, ramps for wheelchairs, baby carriages, protection of openings, covering of manholes, street channels, car channels, elements of ceilings, elements of facades, elements of small architecture, fences and others. Our specialty is cardboard gratings, gratings with unusual, irregular shapes, which can carry heavy duty grating loads (construction in accordance with DIN 24537).

We offer different types of gratings, which, depending on the material used to make them, have different uses and purposes.

In addition to their basic purpose, gratings can have a much wider application. They can be used to make decorative elements, for example, if the grating is placed vertically, and moreover, when a grating with an unusual shape is used, for example, in the shape of a trapezoid, pentagon, star, arc or other, the resulting effect can be positively surprising. These are non-standard applications, and gratings of various shapes are absent from our basic offer, but we must add that the specialty of our plant is non-standard gratings of irregular shapes, which we produce on special order.

The trellis, which is a decorative element, can be used to hang a placard with the plan of the event, a poster, other necessary information. This is helpful for festivals, festivals, city days, concerts, etc.

Platform grating can be used to build a stage (placing on a previously made elevation), as a platform for participants of the event, can be used to make footbridges, walkways (when the event is held on muddy terrain), to build pedestrian trails, in this case you can use a flexible, resilient grating, for example, made of fiberglass and polyester resin which will increase the comfort of walking – it will not be too hard.

There can be many more applications for gratings, and it all depends on our imagination, invention, ingenuity and needs.

During the design and installation of gratings – from the columns passing through the platforms, from the edges terminating the profiles, from pipes, walls, hall enclosures, distances should be maintained.

The following figures show the recommendations. They also show what distances should be maintained between gratings during their laying.

Distances between gratings at the design stage, should be taken as zero. It should also be remembered that gratings are made with negative tolerances. Maintaining the recommended dimensions will ensure that the gratings are properly designed and arranged on the platforms.
